Southern California Forest Conservation
Alternative
Southern California's national forests (Los
Padres, Angeles, San Bernardino and Cleveland) provide critical habitat
for steelhead trout runs listed under the Endangered Species Act.
Environmental organizations, scientists, and
technical experts developed and presented a new management plan for
these four national forests that would greatly improve the Forest
Service's stewardship of these lands. The Center for Biological Diversity's
Western Native Trout Campaign provided technical expertise and helped
develop watershed and trout habitat protection and restoration measures
in this new plan. more
